To je za danes vse!
Alrighty, people, last day of week four.
As I mentioned, we will be looking at some dialogues.
Just a heads up: TODAY'S LESSON HAS A (SHORT) ASSIGNMENT YOU NEED TO HAND IN. The deadline is Friday, April 10th, by 3 PM. The assignment is not graded :)
Since we're coming up on Easter, I'll be giving you feedback on Tuesday.
But first, let's see what we've got here.
JOB #1: Go to page 152 in your e-book. Click on the play button , then click on the
button. Your page should look like this:
then hit the blue play button. Listen and read the dialogues. Pay special attention to how they read each reaction.
Do they go up with their voice? Down? Are they very lively?
Most of these expressions are what people actually say when they're surprised, disappointed (not surprising, disappointing, remember yesterday's lesson!).
Intonation is everything here. You
can say "I don't believe it!" in different ways, and while your book
says it's for surprise, it can also be annoyance, relief,
disappointment... depending on how you say it.
So - listen to the clips again and try and imitate just the reaction as best as you can. You have my explicit permission to sound silly ;)
JOB #2: Read the phrases on page 152 out loud. Again - permission to sound silly: granted.
JOB #3: Here's your assignment. From this list
choose 8 sentences and write a short reaction to them. For example:
Tom's late again. - That's typical!
I've fallen in love. - That's amazing!
Write the reactions in a Word document, save the Word document as PDF (check out this video) with this file name:
TJA_Dialogue-reactions_Name_surname
For example: TJA_dialogue-reactions_Janez_Novak
Upload your assignment here (click).
Click on Oddaj nalogo, click on the blue arrow, click Browse , find the PDF file on your computer and click
Make sure you're submitting a PDF file (the icon looks like this )with the right file name. I will ignore regular document files or files that have the wrong name.
That's it for today!

CONTENT OF THE WEEK

This
is our last lesson for this week. Every week, I will be adding some
extra stuff for you to listen to, watch, read and so on.
THIS IS NOT EXTRA WORK. These are just things I enjoy and I want to share with you awesome people.
Since we're banned from gatherings... I have a live concert for you. I've been asked quite a few times in class "teacher, who's your favorite guitar player".
Well, this is Andy Timmons, my absolute favorite guitarist ever. Here (click) you have a full live show.
I went to see him in a small bar in Austria once and it was incredible. And before you say "pics or it didn't happen":
