Hello, dear students!                                                   

Yesterday you practiced vocabulary on body parts, which will be useful today as we're going to learn about describing appearance. What do you look like? What does your friend look like? Are you tall, short, medium-height? What colour is your hair? What colour are your eyes? These are the questions we'll find answers to today. So, let's start.

TODAY'S LESSON

TASK 1

First open your students' book on page 143 and listen to the dialogue in exercise 1. Follow the text. After that read the text aloud. If you need it, you can listen to the tape again.

Najprej odpri učbenik na strani 143 in poslušaj posnetek za dialog pri nalogi 1. Sledi  besedilu. Nato glasno preberi pogovor. Posnetek lahko poslušaš ponovno, če to potrebuješ.

Use the online dictionary PONS  if there are any new words for you. 

Uporabi spletni prevajalnik PONS, če je kaj novih besed.

TASK 2

Open your notebook and write the title DESCRIBING APPEARANCE (opis zunanjosti). Then watch this video explanation and copy words in examples 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 18 and 19. Those of you who want, can copy all the words. 

Odpri šolski zvezek in napiši naslov DESCRIBING APPEARANCE (opis zunanjosti). Nato si oglej video razlago in prepiši podnaslove in besede pri primerih 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 18 in 19. Kdor želi, lahko prepiše tudi ostale primere.

TASK 3

Translate the words into Slovene. If you are not sure, use the PONS online dictionary.

Besede prevedi v slovenščino. Če nisi prepričan, uporabi PONS spletni prevajalnik.

OPOZORILO: Samostalnika lasje (hair) in brki (a moustache) sta v angleščini edninska. Zato moramo z njima uporabiti tudi edninski glagol. Na primer: My hair IS shoulder-length. My father's moustache IS grey.

TASK 4

Let's move on to some practice in your workbook. Do 3 exercises. Choose:

• WB 142/4, 5, 6 (easy)
• WB 143, 144/7, 8, 9 (a bit more difficult)

Sedaj pa povadite novo besedišče v DZ. Rešite 3 naloge. Izberite glede na težavnost:

• DZ 142/4, 5, 6 (lahke)
• DZ 143, 144/7, 8, 9 (malo težje)

TASK 5 (OPTIONAL)

Now I have a challenge for you. In your notebook write THIS IS ______________. You are going to write a description of this person's appearance by using the vocabulary we learnt today. You can choose between these two options:

1. Choose 1 person you know and make a description of him/her. 
2. Look at these people or characters, choose one, and make a description of him/her.

NEOBVEZNO: Za vas imam izziv. V zvezek zapiši naslov THIS IS ________________. Opisal boš eno osebo, njen izgled. Pomagaj si z besediščem, ki smo ga spoznali danes. Na voljo imaš 2 možnosti:

1. Opiši 1 osebo, ki jo poznaš.
2. Izberi 1 izmed spodnjih oseb in jo opiši.
