Hello, dear students!                                        

We haven't been to school for a long time now and I'm wondering if you still know the way to the house of wisdom. How do you go to school? Do you walk? Do you go by bike? Do you take the school bus/van? What buildings do you pass on your way? What do you see, hear, smell, feel, ...? Let's talk about these things today!

TODAY'S LESSON

Tema ure: The route to school

Cilji ure: vaditi slušno razumevanje, utrditi besedišče - stavbe v mestu, opisati pot v šolo

TASK 1

First, let's revise buildings in town with this:

Najprej povadite in utrdite znanje besedišča - zgradbe v mestu - z to vajo.

TASK 2

Now open your SB on page 86. Take a good look at the picture in exercise 11. What buildings or places can you see? Name all 12. There are a couple of houses as well.

Sedaj odprite učbenik na strani 86. Dobro si oglejte risbo pri nalogi 11. Katere kraje oziroma zgradbe v mestu vidite? Imenujte vseh 12. Nekaj je tudi hiš.

TASK 3

You can see Connie and Lance at the bottom of the picture. They are twins and they wear pink clothes. Can you see them? Great. You are going to do a listening exercise now. First you will listen to them describing their route to school and follow their way in the picture (those of you who have your own SB can mark their routes with 2 different colours).

Spodaj na sliki vidite Connie and Lance-a, ki sta dvojčka. Oblečena sta v roza oblačila. Saj ste jih našli, kajne? Super. Sedaj boste naredili slušno nalogo. Najprej ju poslušajte, ko opisujeta svojo pot v šolo, v učbeniku na sliki pa sledite tej poti (tisti, ki imate svoj učbenik, lahko z 2 različnima barvicama poti označite).

TASK 4

Now focus on exercise 11b: look at the halves of sentences and listen to the tape again. Match the halves to make complete sentences.

Sedaj preidite k nalogi 11b: oglejte si polovice stavkov in zgornji posnetek poslušajte ponovno. Povežite polovice stavkov.

TASK 5

Open your notebook, write the title THE ROUTE TO SCHOOL (= Pot v šolo) and copy the following words with their translations.

Sedaj odprite šolski zvezek, zapišite naslov THE ROUTE TO SCHOOL (Pot v šolo) in prepišite spodnje izraze in njihove prevode

- go to school = iti v šolo

- walk to school = hoditi v šol o

- go by bike = iti s kolesom

- take the bus = iti z avtobusom

- pass the post office = iti mimo pošte

- At the bank I meet my friend. = Pri banki srečam prijatelja.

- stop at the bank = ustaviti se pri banki

- go to the ZOO = iti v živalski vrt

- go through the park = iti skozi park

TASK 6 (OPTIONAL)

SB 87/12 a, b , c: listen to the song and order the pictures in exercise a. In b circle correct answers. In c find rhyming pairs.

NEOBVEZNA NALOGA: UČB 87/12 a, b in c: pri nalogi a poslušaj pesem in uredi sličice v pravilni vrstni red. Pri nalogi b dokončaj stavke, tako da izbereš ustrezni končni del. Pri nalogi c pa v pesmi poišči rime.

TASK 7

Finally, let's look at exercise 10a in your WB page 86. You can see 3 routes to school (by Nina, Andy and Mary). Write places or buildings they see on their way. 

Za konec pa poglejmo še v DZ stran 86/naloga 10a. Na sliki vidite 3 poti v šolo (od Nine, Andy-ja in Mary). Napišite, katere kraje oziroma zgradbe vidijo na svoji poti.

TASK 8 (OPTIONAL)

Now I have a challenge for you. You can choose between these two options. 

1. Think about your route to school. How do you go there? What places do you pass? 

2. If your route is boring because you're your school's neighbour or you live nearby, look at this map. Your house is between the fire station and the gas station.

In your notebook write about your route to school. 

Sedaj pa imam zate izziv. Imaš dve možnosti:

1. Pomisli na svojo pot v šolo. Kako greš tja? Katere kraje ali zgradbe vidiš?

2. Če je tvoja pot dolgočasna, ker si sosed svoji šoli ali pa živiš v bližini, si oglej zgornji zemljevid. Tvoja hiša je med gasilskim domom in bencinsko postajo. 

V zvezek opiši to pot.

                  6. Then they visit the lions.

                  7. After buying some buns, they feed the birds.

                  8. When they finally come to school, the teacher is not pleased.
